Hacked, shocked, awed, but still alive...
My life was turned upside down this past week by someone or something that got into my PC and created havoc by deleting files, running scripts and in general using my PC as a dump for everything from movies to software. As you can see I have everything up and running now, but my inability to secure my box through the IIS security settings cost me dearly. I've never really been on the wrong side of a Hacker's day job before, but I guess its only a matter of time when you are a novice IIS user. I'm confused as to how to react to this whole experience. Should I just dump IIS and use Apache or should I read up on IIS and go back out there with a 'BRING IT ON' attitude. Either way, IIS or not, I'm sure this is only the beginning of my troubles, if I do continue to run a webserver and an FTP server on my PC.
What else....
I just added Hackers to my "people who I don't like, but whose skills I would love to have" list....
I had a good weekend last week. I was In Ithaca Friday night...I walked down this beautiful trail on Saturday morning. Pictures coming soon...Jui and I were in Syracuse on Saturday night. It was Sagar's birthday and some yummy idli sambar for brunch on Sunday completed a short but good trip.
I am also now the proud owner of a new Canon A80 camera. I've bought it just in time for the Spring and all my upcoming trips this summer.(camping,NYC,Portugal).
I think Gul Panag if so full off $h*t .. She preaches about politics and herself isn't going to vote.
In other news, Diego Armando Maradona was released from hospital yesterday which is great news for him and all his fans. Although he is no longer the man he used to be with problems like cocaine addiction and the breakdowns of his body that have subsequently followed, I truly believe that one moment can make a man. Although Maradona has had a several of these moments in a great career for Argentina and Napoli, a man who can do this is like GOD to me. He is and always will be a true soccer legend.
A video of Maradona's famous warmup sure does bring back some fond memories.
Click here to see another cool video of the greatest goals in recent soccer history.
It is 75F outside and it promises to be a warmish weekend. More later...Have a good weekend.
Ciao...
ps: Some of my closest friends are meeting up in Kansas City this weekend. I wish I was with you all....Don't have too much fun without good ol Bhoju....
