Pizza - the new national dish of India
The Gandhis have done it again. What can I say... I'm as shocked as the BJP. Although I must say that this is probably one of the most critical political verdicts that India has seen in its recent history.
The common man has spoken, or rather the majority of a 650 million people have made it clear that they could care a rats ass about the economy, the IT boom in India, peace initiatives with Pakistan, forex reserves, etc.
The majority of India still lives in under $1 a day and I think its awesome that these people who have to struggle so much just to see the next day have actually gone to a voting booth and spoken their mind.
So here we go again though....Another Congress led government....Another Gandhi at the helm(potentially).... We live in interesting times....Hopefully we won't see a repeat of the stagnancy that India saw in previous Gandhi/Nehru governments. I'm a liitle weary of Sonia since she doesn't have much political experience, but hopefully she will do well. Its great that she is of Italian origin. It can only help India.... I think Schwarznager should get some pointers from Amethi's bahoo rani. Then maybe even he can pull off a dubya some day.
I also definitely think that Godhra and all the horror of the Gujrat riots has come back to haunt the BJP. They definitely screwed up there. What happened could have happened on the Congress's watch as well, but Narendra Modi could have definitely done more ....
Lets hope that the Congress can continue the reforms that the BJP has rolled out.
Lets hope that we keep up the impetus that we hace lacked for almost half a century.
Its time to stop rambling....
I had a hectic Thursday as usual. Work + soccer + laundry + also cleaned the house...
AATA MEE JHOP TAKTO....LAYEEE BEKAAR DAMLO AAHE :)

Charlie Kaufman rocks!!!!!
I just watched Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind . I still like Adaptation better, but not my much. I was also pleasantly surprised to learn that the screenplays of both movies were written by Charlie Kaufman, who is truly a genius. Both these movies are definitely in my all time favorite list and I recommend them to any and all.
The movie was definitely a highlight of my Saturday. This afternoon, I watched Chelsea crush Manchester United's hope of automatic qualification to next year's Champions League. Jesper Gronkear does show blips of class every now and then and his clinical finish today did the trick for Chelsea in their 1-1 draw with the Red Devils. Across the Atlantic however, the Rochester Raging Rhinos defeated the Peurto Rico Islanders on a cold night which was far from suited to a game of soccer. Mithun,Santosh,Mickey and myself froze our a$$es off in the best open seats( courtesy of Thomson West) at Frontier field. The Rhinos games are more about the party atmosphere created for suburban Rochesterians and their families than the soccer. Its worth it every once in a while.
Google's IPO is estimated to generate 2.7 billion dollars. There goes another chance of me becoming a millionare.
Ok, now I'm bored and I have to enhance my part of the little mono project I am working on...so ciao....Aanjoy the weekend....live it up....
I leave you with lines from Alexander Pope's [or Pope Alexander as Kirsten Dunst( She is so HOT) says it)]
How happy is the blameless Vestal’s lot!
The world forgetting, by the world forgot.
Eternal sun-shine of the spotless mind!
Each pray’r accepted, and each wish resigned.
P.S:Since we in the US are always behind the world in some regard, its already Sunday in the best city in the world.
Happy Mother's Day to my mum. Mom, You are the best there is.....
