Greatness....
Lance Armstrong won his 6th Tour De France this past weekend....There is very little one can say to praise his achievments since the achievment in itself tops all superlatives...For now though, i think we all agree that he has achieved greatness....

For those of you who follow politics and saw the classic video at jibjab.com must have seen Bill Clinton speak at the Democratic convention. His speech was awesome....That man is by far one of the best public speakers in the world.(yes..i mean world and don't mean it the american way, where world = the 50 states and parts of mexico and canada). Hopefully people will realise that Kerry who may not have Clinton's charisma is a million times better than GW. Kerry accepts the DEMS nomination tonight, so stay tuned and even though most of you who read this can't vote(HAA HAA), spread the word...VOTE 4 KERRY.

I realised something very interesting yesterday...A friend of mine from boston called me yesterday and the first thing he asked me is when are you coming to Boston. I spoke with 3 people from out of town yesterday and one of their first questions were why I wasn't visiting their respective cities anytime soon. I know that Rochester isn't the first place that someone would want to go on vacation, but most of you big city beggars have'nt visited me even once...

Exceptions being Rohit Nerlekar,Rohan Bhargava and Anoop Olikara.

My logic is that if I go to visit someone I don't expect to do something different with them in their city that if I were in Rochester. be it friends or family.. A usual american city has malls, resteraunts, museums, ball parks, bars, and like most of the people in big cities say" MORE THINGS TO DO YAAR" ....but whenevr I've gone to a city bigger than good ol Rottenchester, I've never done anything which i couldn't have done in Rochester....yes...I have more options..but at the end of the day, I ate, drank, didn't sleep, partied, enjoyed myself and basically just hung out with the people I'm visiting....My visit was great cos of the people i hung out with and not as much cos of the place I visited.....(montreal was an exception, but that was primarily cos we all met up there and we were all tourists)...

In no way am I arguing that bigger cities are not a better place to live in, cos you meet more people and your social life is brighter and so and so forth...but for a weekend visit to Rochester has almost as much to offer than any other place....Not counting the Winter ofcourse :)...but thats irrelevant...

Moving to the world of cricket, Azharudin is out of the woodworks..he says he wants to make a comeback into international cricket..ya rite!!!!

Stay up and cheer for India so that they kick some Sri Lankan @$$....
like my nephew Aran says to my sister" Mumma, If I don't stay awake and cheer for India, then how will India win "...

More on googling people and Arjun Dugal's claim to fame in my next post :)

ciao!
